University of Copenhagen

A new construction of a 6000 sq. m. campus for the University of Copenhagen and The Council for Children and Youth Administration.

BACKGROUND

A 6000 sq. m University campus developed by Peder Elgaard from Elgaard Architecture and set within the proximities of the old Municipal Hospital of Copenhagen from 1863 and now a part of University of Copenhagen, City Campus. The new building is intended as a modern interpretation of the surrounding historical hospital and architecture with a particular emphasis on its brick facade.

EURO Lumex was chosen to recommend and deliver LED lighting fixtures.

CHALLENGE

An energy efficient LED lighting solution was required, which follow and fulfil the contemporary and minimalistic design of the building and interior design. The lighting fixtures had to be as discrete as possible and visually appears as an integrated and natural part of the ceiling.

SOLUTION

A natural choice was EURO Lumex LED lighting fixtures having a clean and minimalistic Scandinavian design.

For the Canteen area a canister LED downlight spot was chosen.

For all offices, hallways and toilets a round slimline 8” LED panel was chosen to obtain a discreet and uniform look through out the building.

RESULTS

A state-of-the-art, contemporary and energy efficient LED lighting solution.
