As part of reaching its energy saving goals Copenhagen Municipality decided on replacing the lighting in one of its Education Centres with LED lighting in the entire building including offices, meeting/class rooms, hallways, toilets, canteen and kitchen.
Copenhagen Municipality also known as the City of Copenhagen is the largest municipality in Denmark and has a population of approx. 595.000.
As part of reaching its energy saving goals as well as improving the lighting / work environment throughout the city, Copenhagen Municipality decided on replacing the existing lighting with LED lighting from EURO Lumex in one of their education centers including offices, meeting rooms, hallways, toilets, canteen and kitchen.
As the education center is used for both continuing education of employees as well as representative purposes by the municipality, requirements was set to the visual appearance of the new LED lighting as well as compliance with latest international standards for artificial lighting.
Offices, meeting rooms and classrooms have acoustic ceilings from Gyptone for which the new LED lighting had to visually appear as an integrated part of the ceiling.
EURO Lumex has a wide range of LED panels, which specifically has been developed for a wide range of Gyptone as well as Knauf Danoline acoustic ceiling systems. The LED panels chosen for this project has the exact same physical shape, color and appearance as the Gyptone acoustic ceiling (Gyptone Quattro), which makes the LED panels visually appear as an integrated part of the ceiling
To achieve maximum energy savings all rooms was installed with Occupancy as well as Daylight regulation system.
There is a calculated reduction of 68% in the energy consumption including occupancy and daylight control. The investment including installation has a payback period of 5 years, falling well within the warranty period of 5 years.
